Samtskhe-Javakheti is an historical region located in the south of Georgia. Historical-geographical provinces Samtskhe, Javakheti and Tori are the part of it. This land is a cradle of royal dynasty of Bagrationi, is a native land of genial Shota Rustaveli. The region has a favorable geopolitical location. It is bordered by Turkey and Armenia which creates promising conditions for trade, economic and cultural relationships with these neighboring countries.

v Vardzia Monastery - built in 1156-1203, it has played a great role in political and cultural life. The fortress was built in the reign of King George III and was finally constructed during the years of Queen Tamar's ruling. Vardzia monastery has the width of of 0,5 km and is arranged on 13 floors. Overall, it consists of 420 utility rooms. Totally there are 12 chapels in the monastery. Vardzia is rich with fresco paintings.
v The Mtsvane (Green) Monastery - The Chitakhevi St. George's Monastery is located in a picturesque place in the Borjomi valley. People called it lovingly “The Green Monastery”, because all the trees in the valley are of a special green color. It was built in IX c. by followers of the outstanding Georgian ecclesiastical figure Grigol Khandzteli.
v The Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park - is the first National Park in Caucasus that corresponds to the international standards. The park is one of the largest in Europe - it covers more than 76,000 hectares. In 2007 the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park became a member of European network of Protected Areas.
