Adjara - officially known as the Autonomous Republic of Adjara is an historical, geographic and political-administrative region of Georgia. Area: 2,880 km²- 4.2% of Georgia. The population is 411000 (2014) and above 140000 (2014) live in Batumi, the capital of Ajara. Adjara is subdivided into six administrative units: City of Batumi, Kobuleti, Khelvachauri, Keda, Shuakhevi, Khulo Districts. One of the most important priorities of Ajara is Tourism. And it has been developing at a high speed in the region. Number of tourists increases every year in the region.

v The Fortress of Petra - is one of the most significant monuments of material culture on the entire eastern coast of the Black Sea. A historical fortress-city in west Georgia, in the Kobuleti district. It was constructed in the VI century AD. Due to its unique military-strategic and trade-economic location the Byzantine Emperor Justinian built a city here. Some historians consider the fortress to be the “(Kadjeti`s) Hell’s Castle” referred to in the famous “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin” poem by Shota Rustaveli.
v Kintrishi Protected Areas - is located in Adjara Autonomous Republic (Kobuleti Municipality) with a total area of 13,893 ha. It is located in picturesque valley of the river Kintrishi, between village Tskhemvani and Khino Mountains. Tourist trails are located 300-2,000 meters above sea level. Visitors can find amazing waterfalls and high mountain lakes in this green lush area. Mean air temperature of August is +24°C, and of January +4°C.
